R&B singer Ciara is continuing to take her career to new and inspiring heights. After finding new love with Russell Wilson, growing her beautiful family, and mounting several well-received comeback efforts, CiCi is on to her latest win with the Summer Walker featured single “Better Thangs.” While she is only breathing positivity and growth into her new endeavors, her ex-boyfriend Future is looking to keep the negativity flowing with his latest music video, casting a man to play Ciara’s husband Russell Wilson.
Future and Ciara were a hot couple upon first stepping out in 2013. After scoring a hit single with “Body Party” and welcoming their son Future Jr, it seemed like all that was left was wedding bells and happily ever after. Unfortunately, Future’s infidelity would lead to the pair calling things quits. A distraught Ciara would release “I Bet,” singing about their split, before moving on and finding her true love in Russell Wilson. Since then, her music has focused on her happy new life and how she’s found love in the end.
Future has continued to be the king of toxic. His latest release is a song titled “Love You Better.” The heartbreak anthem is described as Future seemingly apologizing to an ex he wronged while trying to guilt her into feeling sorry for him. He sings over a chopped and screwed sample, saying, “Hope you can find someone to love you better than I did.”
While he just debuted the single with a Travis Scott-directed performance on Jimmy Kimmel this week, the actually music video dropped back in July. In it, Future performs in clown make-up and sings to his ex-lover, a woman who seems to be dating an NFL star, much like his ex-Ciara. In it, you see her and her man playing with their daughter and enjoying their mansion while Future sings alone and sad watching them.

The actor in the video who played “Russell Wilson” confirmed that he was cast as a fake for Ciara’s husband in an excited post on Twitter. The robotic voice-over says, “Still can’t believe Future choose me to play Russell Wilson in his new video ‘Love You Better.'” The tweet went viral despite fans questioning how someone who looks nothing like Russell Wilson was cast to play here. Throughout the video you can see the same guy at one point proposing to his love interest and playing with his daughter. Check out the video above.
