Are the chickens coming home to roost for Scottie Pippen? After years of a turbulent divorce battle, the retired NBA and his ex-wife, Larsa Pippen, everything has been finalized. But it’s looking like someone from Pippen’s past is returning to haunt him and is doing so with a lawsuit. Scottie Pippen entered matrimony for a second time with Larsa Marie Younan on July 20, 1997. Their marriage brought forth four children, currently between the ages of 21 and 14. However, after almost two decades of marriage, the couple shared that love no longer lived between the two.
In 2016, the former Chicago Bulls player reportedly filed to have his marriage dissolved. At the time, he provided a statement via his representation to E! Online that he’d hoped the divorce proceedings would “be swift and amicable.” However, they were anything but. Despite the initial decision to divorce, the former couple had a small period where reconciliation was on the table. But after realizing they were unsuccessful at it, Larsa Pippen filed for divorce in 2018. This time, the proceedings would remain.
It would take years before their divorce was finalized. But throughout that time, both parties began dating and entered high-profile relationships that kept the media buzzing. Larsa Pippen was linked to celebrities ranging from Future to NBA stars Malik Beasley and Tristan Thompson. In addition, Scottie Pippen was tied to a few unidentified women that the media spotted him with out and about. Finally, it was announced in 2021 that the marriage had been fully dissolved. According to US Weekly, although it was reported in January of 2022, their attorneys revealed the divorce was finalized as of December 15, 2021.
But just as Scottie Pippen thought he’d be able to live life freely, the 57-year-old is being sued by an alleged former flame. According to The Blast, an individual named Chyvette Valentine is suing the 6x NBA Champion for retroactive travel expenses. Valentine alleges that she was romantically involved with Scottie Pippen for six years, beginning in 1987.
During the period she claims to have been in a relationship with Pippen, he was married to his first wife, Karen McCollum, making her his side piece. Additionally, she states that she spent a large sum of money to cover the costs of their travels and amenities throughout their relationship and is now suing for just under $10,000.
