Bangladesh cricket team is flying after winning the series against Australia. Great performances in this series have added several feathers of success to the crown of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
Shakib has been shortlisted for the ICC Cricket Player of the Month for the first time, in addition to regaining the seat of the best cricketer in the T20.
The ICC, the governing body of world cricket, announced the names of the best players in July in a press release on Sunday. Shakib’s rivals were Mitchell Marsh of Australia and Hayden Walsh Jr. of the West Indies.
Shakib’s name is at the top. Shakib was honored to be the second best cricketer of the month in Bangladesh. Earlier, Mushfiqur Rahim was named the best male cricketer of May.
Today, Mushfiqur’s teammate Shakib became the ICC’s best male cricketer in July. West Indies’ Stephanie Taylor has been named the best of girls this month.
Shakib also played well during his tour of Zimbabwe in July. He scored 145 runs in the winning innings of the unbeaten 96-run match in the ODI series. He also took 6 wickets in the series. Shakib took 3 wickets in T20 series at the cost of 6 runs per over
