People are tuned into the Waka and Tammy show, and no, we are not referring to the WE tv reality show. Ever since the couple confirmed rumors that they are no longer together, their fans have wondered what’s next for the estranged couple. Waka Flocka recently took to social media and made somewhat of an inclination that he’s moved on. But what about Tammy Rivera?
Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera’s relationship began in 2011 when the two met by chance in Miami. At the time, the rapper had a performance while she happened to be on vacation. Upon meeting, the two formed a quick connection that would only spark an incredible romance. According to Hello Beautiful, the couple secretly exchanged vows in May 2014. However, Tammy Rivera explained to PEOPLE in 2019 that she preferred an intimate ceremony and that their plan was to make it to the five-year mark to have the wedding of her dreams.
Because of their longtime relationship and marriage, the “No Hands” rapper inherited a stepdaughter. Tammy Rivera gave birth to Charlie Rivera on July 1st, 2005, with her ex, Brian Williams. Meanwhile, Waka Flocka has no biological children of his own. However, he’s stepped in to help raise Charlie as his own. Waka Flocka has been there for many of Charlie’s pivotal moments, including her Quinceanera celebration. Speaking with Monsters and Critics, Tammy Rivera labeled her then-husband an “amazing father.” In addition, the reality star and singer expressed that she’s “appreciative” of Waka Flocka and doesn’t expect anything else from him as he’d been “doing it for so long.”
But the dream wedding that Tammy Rivera had envisioned for the couple almost didn’t happen. In 2016, Waka Flocka and the “All These Kisses” singer went through a rough period when she split from him due to his cheating ways. Tammy Rivera spoke with Essence, where she revealed that the “trust” within their marriage had been “broken.” But after being apart for six months, the couple reconciled. Rivera also talked about what made her take Waka Flocka back at the time.
“Having a positive mindset really helped me because if you think nothing but positive thoughts, then that’s what’s going to happen,” said Tammy Rivera. Additionally, she stated that Waka “changed completely.” And in 2019, the couple made it to their 5-year mark and held a lavish wedding ceremony in Mexico to renew their vows. Throughout their on-and-off relationship, the couple allowed viewers into their world by way of reality tv. Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera were prominent cast members on the shows Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, Marriage Boot Camp, and Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka. Through these television shows, fans witnessed the highs and lows that the couple faced. Soon, rumors of an alleged split between Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera began to swarm.
After long speculations, the news was finally confirmed that Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera were no longer together. A video on March 22nd via The Shade Room showed the rapper on stage expressing that he needed “some chocolate on stage.” So naturally, fans immediately began questioning whether their marriage was intact.Soon afterward, Tammy Rivera held an Instagram Live session where she became inundated with questions from fans. She then confirmed that they are “not together, and that’s cool. We’re good,” Rivera affirmed. “We’re in good spaces.” Following her confirmation, fans awaited Waka Flocka’s take on the news. Soon enough, they would get their wishes.
A few days after Tammy addressed their split, Waka Flocka appeared on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast to share his feelings. “That’s my best friend. That’s my dawg,” he said. The rapper went on to address those who were looking for a drama-filled breakup between the couple.”We’re grown,” added Waka Flocka. Furthermore, he calls their split an “evolving for the better” and that there is no need for fighting or drama. He insists that it’s all love between them. Still, He insinuates that another reconciliation at the moment would be “toxic,” prompting him to dodge further questions.Waka Flocka also states that his biggest blessing is Charlie and that he will continue to regard her as his daughter.
Tammy Rivera offered more commentary on her estranged husband in a recent conversation on Funky Friday with Cam Newton. The reality star expressed her sincerest wishes for Waka Flocka’s happiness and detailed that “outside of cameras,” they’ve been through some “real s**t.”By the looks and sounds of things, the two will always have a great relationship despite it not being a romantic one anymore. Tammy Rivera revealed that their friendship was most important to her, as that is “forever.” “I would rather let go of my husband and lose my husband than to lose my friend,” said Tammy Rivera.
Waka Flocka recently set the Internet ablaze when he seemingly shared that he was seeing another woman and potentially thinking about revealing her identity. Taking to social media, the rapper wrote, “Am I wrong for hiding my girlfriend or smart for protecting real love?”
While Waka Flocka looks to have moved on, there is no word on whether Tammy Rivera is seeing anyone now.
