Beyonce and Jay-Z’s song ‘Drunk In Love’ was a massive success. The single won Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance at the 57th Grammy Awards. When you look up ‘the song’s songwriters, you’ll see eight names listed, including Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Timbaland. However, Future claims he wrote the record.
During an interview, Radio Host Angie Martinez asked Future about the record, in which Future revealed he wrote the song. According to Future, he recorded the song for Beyonce. However, Beyonce claimed she never listened to it and didn’t do anything with it for six months. At that point, Future did not know what was going on with the song and moved on to write other records. However, Beyonce and Jay-Z eventually released the song on December 17, 2013, without Future’s knowledge or credit.
Future claims that if he had put his album out before Beyonce released the song, she wouldn’t have been able to release it. When asked if he would seek legal action against Beyonce, Future stated, “No.” Future continued, “Nah, man, no lawsuit, no bitterness, or nothing. I don’t get into that. I don’t do it for that. I got hits for real. That’s not my last song.” And Future’s right. Since the release of Drunk In Love, the rapper has worked with various top artists, including Ariana Grande, Ciara, The Weeknd, Drake, and others.
